In this fascinating TED talk Dr. Joan Rosenberg suggests that unpleasant feelings should not be labelled as ‘bad’. Instead, we should recognise them as uncomfortable but accept and stay present when experiencing them. Dr. Rosenberg’s formula is that if we can move through eight unpleasant feelings (sadness, shame, helplessness, anger, vulnerability, embarrassment, disappointment and frustration) in this way, we can get through anything in life.
